Two book that leap to mind are the following by Nicholson Baker:
-- _Vox_
(This is sort of "border-line first person" in that the book is
a transcription of a phone call between two people so it's pretty close.
But lots of "solo-narration" by each of the call's participants.)
-- _The Fermata_
(Technically this breaks the "no fantasy" rule, but aside from its basic
premise --the narrator can stop time-- the book is otherwise written
in Baker's standard hyper-detailed, very realistic style and is strictly
first-person.)
