My thanks to all that responded to my query with hints on how to order
the standard.  This I know, but the user didn't want to spend the $700
to $1,000 it would take to purchase it.  He only needed to check some
wording, it wasn't for long term use.  

Unfortunately, as giving and helpful as we W0mbats are, standards
issuing organizations, and such agents as IHS and Tech Street, are not
nearly so helpful, and will only let you look at the standards upon
payment in full.

The user has come to terms with the fact that he won't be able to use
the standard after all.

The simplest way to get a UL Standard 1449 is to contact Underwriter's
Laboratories at its Northbrook, IL office and request one.

I am trying to find a copy of a standard, UL 1449.  I've tried everyone
I can think of around here, and across Canada.  Is there any chance that
someone in W0mbatland has a copy they would be willing to loan to us?
