[PW] disappearing web site

Hi,

The Internet Archive has several versions of the Picturing Books
site: <
http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://picturingbooks.imaginarylands.org/
 >. There's a note on this August 2007 version that says this:

"Portions of Picturing Books have been removed due to copyright
abuse. Users seeking information that has been removed may email
Picturing Books to make a request. As always, all comments and
queries will receive a prompt response."

Perhaps that's why the site was taken down?

Anyway, there's an email link in there to: dimatulka at alltel.net .

The "about" page also indicates that the site (in 2007, anyway) was
owned by Denise Matulka. The bio there says "Denise has a B.A. in
English and Children's Literature from the University of
Nebraska-Lincoln and a M.S. in Library and Information Sciences from
the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign."

Via Google:
There's a bio of a Denise Matulka, who also is a librarian with a
degree from UIUC, here: http://www.linkedin.com/pub/4/A29/278 . She
also has interests in children's literature. This page has a
"contact" link. If the email address, above, doesn't work, maybe
this contact link will. I suspect she's your key to solving the riddle.

It also looks like D.M. has published a book (in 1997) on the
subject, _Picture This: Picture Books for Young Adults A
Curriculum-Related Annotated Bibliography._
Here's its record in the Library of Congress catalog:
Here's its Amazon page: <
http://www.amazon.com/Picture-This-Curriculum-Related-Annotated-Bibliography/dp/0313301824
 >.
Barnes & Noble:
http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/results.asp?ATH=Denise+I.+Matulka

I assume one could also reach her through her publisher, Greenwood
Press < http://www.greenwood.com/ >.

I hope this helps. Good luck.

Elizabeth
