Well, it's only a guess, as I'm sure John Dyson would agree.

Death certificates can sometimes be quite misleading. One I have heard 
of (seen by a genealogical researcher) gave "severe neck injury" as the 
cause of death. In fact, as the researcher knew from other sources, the 
man had been decapitated in an industrial accident.
