[PW] Song of the Trade Wind - Jack London

Quick search in google books finds it again in "The Complete Poetry of
Jack London," on page 120, citing it as published in the "Sea Wolf,"
with the following notation: "Attribution: (It is referred to as "The
Song of the Trade Wind" in the narrative. Author unknown therefore
possibly written by Jack London. Lines 7 & 8 also appear in (Chapter
XXVII, page 237) of "Martin Eden.")

Sounds like probably not an actual song.

Subject: [PW] Song of the Trade Wind - Jack London

Hello,

I am trying to find out if the song - Song of the Trade Wind - in Jack
London's The Sea Wolf, is an actual song. The first stanza is:

Oh, I am the wind the seamen love -
I am steady, and strong, and true;
They follow my track by the clouds above,
O'er the fathomless tropic blue

I am looking through biographies by Andrew Sinclair, Richard O'Connor
and Alex Kershaw. I have sent a request to post a message on the Jack
London Listserv. I have had no luck googling.

Thank you.
