This is from Grove Art Online
"Klee's legacy as a teacher also survives in the Pädagogisches Skizzenbuch
(1925), the second of the Bauhaus books edited by Gropius and Moholy-Nagy
and designed by the latter. From the famous beginning, which introduces 'an
active line on a walk', the book progresses through an analysis of
relationships of pictorial form, emphasizing that all is rooted in man's own
perceptions of himself and the world around him: the human circulatory
system, a waterfall and a spinning top all become examples of motion and
balance. As in his art, empathy with one's physical self and surroundings is
regarded as inseparable from abstract principles. The four sections of this
handbook are a précis of extensive lecture notes."
