[PW] ? Town Voronezh in US

Dear fellow W*mb*ts,

I have a query from someone living in Voronezh in Russia who is looking 
for information about a town, community in the US with the same name. I 
have been unable to find any location in the US which resembles this 
spelling. There are variant spellings for the Russian town: Woronezh, 
Voronesh, Woronesh, Voronetz, Yoronetz. On none of these spellings have 
I found a location in the US. I have a gut feeling that the town he is 
looking for "sounds like" the name of this town but may look totally 
different (a typical "oranges and peaches" situation).

Does anyone know of a town with a name similar to this?

Does anyone have an idea of possible other spellings for the town?

Any help would be most appreciated.
