Rick-

I don't know the title or author of the poem, but I found the words
online:

I'm my mama's little darling. Don't you think I'm awful sweet?

With the roses on my shoulder, and my gingham dress so neat.

Mama made it just on purpose cause I'se goin to speak to you.

Ain't it pretty? Don't you think so? Wish you had it? Bet you do!

I'm a poor little sorrowful baby, And Bridgett's way upstairs.

My kitten scratched my finder, and dolly won't say her prayers.

I haven't seen my beautiful mama since ever so long ago.

And I'm no longer my mama's dear baby, cause daddy said so.

Mama's dot anoder new baby. Dod dived it, he did yesterday.

And it cries and cries so dreadful. I wish they'd take it away.

Maybe my daddy will bring me a new little kitten some day.

Here comes Bridgett with mama's new baby. I wish they'd take it away.

Oh look at it's tunin red finders! It sees me right out of its eyes!

I guess we'll keep it, and give it some candy whenever it cries.

And I guess I'll give it my dolly to play with most every day.

Say Bridgett, ask Dod not to take it away
