Subject: [PW] Quote on suicide

Hello, all! There's a quotation I heard many years ago that I can't
quite place. The import of this quote was that to commit suicide was, in
effect, desertion from the army of the living and therefore many people
believed it wrong. Overall, the quote was quite droll. I think it
originated with La Rochefoucauld but was unable to find it in Bartlett's
or online. Perhaps someone has the answer? Thank you.
