Hi,

In doing some research on famous balloonist Leo Stevens, I see that his
birthdate is not what it should be - i.e. exact. He was supposedly born in
Cleveland, Ohio in 1876.

But in 1875, his mother was involved in a lawsuit in Philadelphia to get
him back from an adoptive apprenticeship (per Baltimore Sun, Nov 3). He was
also called "Prince Leo." Thus, he would already seem to be at least a small
child, several years "before" his birth. Hmmm...

At the library, I came across an interview he gave to the Dallas Morning
News, Sept 12, 1892, p. 3, but it was not able to print very clearly. Does
anyone have access to a sharper newspaper image which can be forwarded? Maybe
that will shed some light...

Much thanks - will share results.

Allen
