[PW] Another war poem

Here's what I was given:

The poem was available in a high school library.  It stated something along the lines of being a small war.  "Only" so-many soldiers were killed.  But then it went on to state numbers of wives, children, friends, parents, etc that were affected by the loss of "only" so many soldiers in that "small" war.  

I've tried the various poetry indexes and many combinations of words for web surfing.  I have found nothing.  The poem sounds so familiar to me.

Does anyone have a idea of the name of it and its author?
