[PW] ID injured Iowa State running back 1970s

I have forwarded this to PW on behalf of a friend:

In the early 70s, IA State had a star football recruit named Jerry who promised to be a big-time star for them at the running back position, but who suffered a career-ending injury in the off-season during his freshman year (or maybe in early practice--anyway, it was before his season began).
