I did a quick check of the Social Security Death Index, but without having a
birth or death date, it's a long shot, since there were 1,096 women named
Helen Robinson listed there, though conceivably some of them could be ruled
out by birth date if they were less than 14 in 1917. (Girls started really
young in silent movies.) The reason I was looking there was because maybe,
if she had not remarried before her death, it would list the place of
residence at her death and one could check the paper in that town for an
obituary.
Or is it the son or a grandchild who is looking for information?
Unfortunately, there were a lot of people who went to Hollywood and didn't
leave much of an impression on its history. Maybe archives at whatever
studio that made those pictures she was in--the case of Rasputin and the
Empress, MGM--might have something, that is, if they have been donated to
some university, otherwise, the relevant records may have long since been
discarded. Possibly the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences Library
out in Los Angeles would be the best bet to try contacting.
