Demonym

A demonym or gentilic is a word that denotes the members of a people or the inhabitants of a place. In English, the demonym is often the same as the name of the people's native language: e.g., the "French" (people who speak French). Some places, particularly smaller cities and towns, may not have an established word for their residents; toponymists have a particular challenge in researching these. See also ethnonym.-----Original Message-----

Subject: [PW] I've lost a word and a Wikipedia page....

Folks,

I've "lost" a Wikipedia page! I didn't realize that I.E.'s "history"
doesn't save individual Wikipedia pages. :(

The page is about how names of countries, states, cities, areas in
general, and cultures are changed to describe the people from them,
e.g. Washington/Washingtonian, Liverpool/Liverpudlian, New York/New Yorker.

Does anyone recognize this or know the word that describes this?

Thanks.

so forth and so on
