Hello, Peter,

Adolf  Spitteler was born on 7 June 1846 in Liestal, Switzerland and 
died on 12 January 1940 in Zurich, Switzerland. His full name was 
Friedrich Adolf (Adolf also spelled Adolph - this is typical in Germany 
where in the 19th century the two spellings were used interchangeably).
