I would try the Mudcat Cafe (www.mudcat.org) although you may have to poke
around in their site some.  I'm not sure what search terms you would use.  I
got a lot of hits -- both lyrics and discussion of the music --  for
"American Revolution", but I don't know exactly what you'd call the period
between the Revolution and the Civil War.
