In our city if you want to close a road for a non-emergency you would
need to get a city permit. I would contact the local officials in
Maynard.

Subject: [PW] ? Legality of non-emergency road closings
Not sure if there is a quick answer to this, so if there isn't don't
bother, since I'm trying to find out today (2/28/08): what are the legal
obligations of a town in Massachusetts (in this case, specifically
Maynard) in regard to closing a road for a non-emergency situation? How
much notice, if any, must they give? Can they deny access to your own
home, and if so, must they give notice? Must there be a public hearing?
Is this a local ordinance or state?
Any help you can give even with a partial answer, would be greatly
appreciated.
