[PW] African American Crossover Readership

I don't have any good statistics or anything, just my own experience on
the reference desk, but I have never had anyone except African Americans
ask for writers like Zane or some of the other African American
romance/erotic writers. Folks of all races ask for the classic writers
like Zora Neal Hurston, Richard Wright, Toni Morrison, etc., and some of
the mystery writers.
Hope that helps!

Are people of other 'racial' backgrounds actively searching
for and reading African American authors?
