Thanks to all who responded to my question last week. At Professor  
Dyson's suggestion, I contacted the Nabb Research Center, and have  
just received a reply. Note: I had also contacted some other Delmarva  
institutions, before I posted to you wombats, but go no response.

Here is what I have learned. There is no documentation of a specific  
name given by the Indians to the peninsula now known as Delmarva. No  
specific name was referenced by the Dutch, English, or Swedes when  
they purchased land from the previous inhabitants of the peninsula,  
and neither the Dutch nor Swedes appeared to use any specific  
geographical name for the peninsula when New Netherlands and New  
Sweden were flourishing.
