[PW] Fox fur farming in Minnesota

I'm hoping someone can help find a book my patron remembers reading many years ago. The book was about two brothers (name not remembered) who had a large/the largest fox fur farm in Minnesota around the turn of the century. He remembers the business being started around 1902 or 1903. He knows the book is older because the last entries he remembers reading were from the 40s. He also remembers something about these brothers being connected in some way to research on canine diseases.

Can anybody point me in the right direction? Without knowing the family name of these brothers, I'm getting nowhere.
