>From the Music Man museum in Mason City Iowa, birthplace of Meredith Willson:

On October 25, 1971, Meredith Willson was the conductor of a 1,076 piece
band for the official dedication ceremony of Disneyworld in Orlando,
Florida.  We have, in our archives, a photo of the band, and a photo of
Meredith Willson conducting from a motorized gazebo.  We do not know the
instrumentation of the band.  We have heard that, through the years, there
have been other similar sized bands formed in various places around the
country.  We hear of these through visitors that come to The Music Man
Square, but we have no photos or other information to substantiate these
stories.  Thank you for your interest.  We'd love to have you come tour The
Music Man Square and The Meredith Willson Museum.
