Other than that it seems to be preserved (note photographs on walls) so
possibly a modern `false' sepia-tone and a pump of some sort, possibly turn
of the Century before last vintage (writing THAT hurt! 1890s-1910s), no
idea.
There is an inscription on the accumulator, but I can't resolve it.
The motive power is intriguing: either shafting enclosed in a tube or fairly
low-pressure air or steam. Possibly the latter would be high-pressure due to
the lack of insulation other than wood slats, but the size of the tubes
could go either way. There would seem to be a governor on the vertical feed
to the double reciprocating engine, or possibly an oiler.
Whatever was being pumped was in- or e-ducted at front and rear of the pump
(RH), suggesting lift of some sort. These things were used for just about
everything in those days, from sewage to "you name it"..
I've passed it on to some guys who may know!

All:
I was sorting through boxes of photos in my library's special collections
Saturday and found this photo:
http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dgpcw9h_2df5kdnfc
The photo is not labeled at all. Does anyone have any idea what it is a
photo of?
Thanks,
Kevin
