A quick check of Google maps did not turn up a town by that name, but shows
a town named Kupiskis in Lithuania. Given what I have seen of handwritten
documents from that time period (from an internship in an archives) and
haveing learned that the family and/or place names of immigrants were often
misspelled or misinterpreted, could this be the town your patron is seeking?
I also found the town Kupiskis in:
*Goode's World Atlas*, 20th ed. (2000), Rand McNally, p. 167
*Concise Atlas of the World*, (2003), Dorling Kindersley, p. 119
Hope this helps!
