I know that when Eva Peron died, her husband Juan Peron had her body embalmed and preserved and she would be seated at a chair, frequently at the dinner table with him and his new wife.  He was dictator of Argentina in the early 1950s and I believe she died in 1952.  She was enormously popular and campaign for many years by his side and had tried to run for an office herself but fell ill. It was at least 15 years before she was finally and properly buried.
