I found a copy of the cartoon online at:
http://www.cartoonistgroup.com/store/add.php?iid=10463 (and
unfortunately, it keeps being interrupted by a copyright notice - but
just stay tuned, the cartoon will appear!) And yes, it definitely looks
like Ms. Harper Lee herownself.

Subject: Re: [PW] Sunday's "Opus" Comic
To clear up a couple points:
1] Many papers did not show the "current" episodes of "Opus" during
the last two Sundays.
2] This includes the Boston Globe which, last weekend, skipped "Opus"
altogether.
3] This weekend the Boston Globe (and apparently several other papers)
ran
an old strip[*] concerning Opus' admiration for _To Kill a Mockingbird_
(completely unrelated to the "intended" strip for 2Sept).
4] The "Mockingbird" strip (i.e. the old strip, not the "current" strip)
has a copy of photo in the final frame which is clearly of Harper Lee.

[* Unfortunately, I can't find our copy of the Sunday's Globe to check
the
date of the strip, but I believe the strip was originally printed in
the '90s. ]
