[PW] politicians metaphorically represented in Milton's Paradise Lost

Hello old friends:

 

Coming out of lurker mode to ask a question. I'm trying to find the names of
politicians from Milton's era that he might have been metaphorically
representing in Paradise Lost. I have helped a student locate numerous
articles of literary criticism that discuss Milton's politics and various
motivations in PL, but nothing that actually "names names." I would
appreciate any suggestions. Thank you.
