Hello,

This is the closest I could find, authored by Charles Caleb Colton
(1780-1832), author of Lacon, or Many Things in Few Words:

"True friendship is like sound health, the value is seldom appreciated
until it is lost."

Hope this helps,

Patty

Subject: [PW] Qotuation: Value of true friendship

Vague request: a listener wants a quote about the value of true
friendship.
She thinks it came from Longfellow or Wordsworth. Thanks for any help.
