Hello, fellow wombatters. I saw an episode of the television news
program "20/20" recently that featured an interview with comedian Drew
Carey about what made him successful. In the interview, Carey said he
began his career in comedy when a friend offered him a small fee to
write jokes for him, so he went to the library and took out a book on
how to write jokes.
<http://abcnews.go.com/2020/Stossel/Story?id=3854246&page=2> Why
haven't I seen Drew Carey appear in a national/international campaign
for libraries? I know he has donated substantially to Ohio libraries,
but I'm just curious why there hasn't been any sort of national or
international campaign using Carey as a spokesperson. This cannot be
the first time Carey has told the story. Have library associations
approached him? Have there been campaigns and I just missed them? Just
curious ....
