Timothy, I'm not certain if this will suffice as an authoritative
answer, but just in case... In restaurants or coffee bars one leaves
the soaked cinnamon stick behind along with the dirty china and silver.
At home though, a stick may be broken into thirds (or smaller pieces)
and then steeped in more than one cup, then strained out.
