Alternately, the "main" AH dictionary, the big AMERICAN HERITAGE DICTIONARY
OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE, has a version with a *1973* copyright -- I've got
it before me. (The reverse of title page gives copyright dates of
"1969, 1970, 1971, 1973.") But it's not a new edition, just a reprint
(with maybe minor typo corrections etc., or maybe not). I spotchecked
it against our 1969 edition and not only is the pagination exactly the
same, but the random pages I compared start and end with
the same words etc.

Title The American Heritage dictionary of the English language. William
Morris, editor.
Published [New York] American Heritage Pub. Co. [1973]
Description L, 1550 p. illus. 29 cm.
