[PW] Birthstone and flower mismatch?

Hi,
In researching the meaning of an illustrated and embossed postcard sent in
1913, I see that the card, a 'Birthday Series,' portrays "The Wild Rose and
the Emerald."
Googling along, I note that the Emerald is usually associated with the
month of May. BUT the Rose ('wild' not specified) seems linked to June.
So what do we have here? Has the "matchup" of gemstone and flower changed
over the years, or was the card also meant to encompass May AND June?
However, the standard flower for May is supposedly the Lily.
Thanks!
Allen
