If you do a Google search for "amateur futurists" OR "amateur
futurologists", you get about 100 hits, including at least one link to
the Web site of the World Future Society, http://www.wfs.org/faq.htm.
If you leave off the 's' you get even more hits, including this site
that says WFS will send you "just the kind of stuff a person needs to
start learning to become an amateur futurist":
