[PW] historical population data

Hello, all -

I have a patron (same one who wanted the circumference of the states'
borders - we think he just comes up with these to challenge us) who now
wants the population of the world in 1882.  We are trying to get a couple of
articles through ILL that *might* have this, but I thought I'd put it out to
the general concensus to see if anyone can speed up the process.

We've checked the regular sources (almanac, historical maps, etc.) and found
info for 1850 and 1900, but nothing in between.  We found individual
countries and various ethnic/religious groups, but nothing for the world.
