[PW] Artist active in 1898

Hi all,

I had this request from my patron:

"Would you happen to know of any artist (or school of art) who might have
painted in 1898 and used the initials HMA to sign his work?  The painting is
of 2 angels flying.  3 crosses on a hill are barely visible in the
background.

I cannot seem to find anything on the Internet."

I poked around a little bit on the Internet myself, but I have no background
in art and really have no clue where to start.  Any help would be
appreciated.  TIA!
