My favorite Addams is the skiier whose tracks go around a tree -- one
leg on each side.

A source of pride in my family is that my grandfather got mentioned
in a Chas Addams cartoon: Two explorers tied to a stake in the
darkest jungle, with cannibals dancing around them wielding spears
and shields. First explorer says to his partner: "Wouldn't you know
that at a time like this Haley would be off somewhere photographing
some damn ritual?" (with photographer perched out of their line of
sight above in a tree, photographing the ritual surrounding their
inevitable demise) -- in the New Yorker, 1954
