1) The Wonderful Flight to the Mushroom Planet, 1954
2) Stowaway to the Mushroom Planet, 1956
3) Mr. Bass's Planetoid, 1958
4) A Mystery for Mr. Bass, 1960
5) Time and Mr. Bass, 1967
Volumes one and two are easily available. Paperback versions abound,
albeit without illustrations. But even illustrated hardbacks are common
and reasonable, i.e., in the vicinity of $10.
Volume three is sometimes available under $15, often in very good condition.
Volumes four and five, on the other hand, usually fall into the
unreasonable category. Volume four seems to be the one that commands
the highest price of the set; I have seen it for as high as $250 (but
that was a first edition billed as being in excellent condition).
I recently splurged and purchased the four of the five that I needed,
which included replacing the non-illustrated PB versions with very nice
hardbacks. I paid about $40 for _Time and Mr. Bass_, an ex-lib with
dust jacket and in superb condition. But _Mystery_ cost me $75 for an
ex-lib in so-so condition, no DJ.
It is worth getting them all with illustrations; the images, done by
four different artists, add greatly to the text. Despite being done by
different people, they present enough similarities that you might not
necessarily notice the different styles at first.
