[PW] ?kid on the moon book

I have a friend who is trying to remember the series of books he read as a
kid (late 60's) - he says it about people who lived on the moon, in
particular a boy whose name starts with M - Martin or Melvin or something.
That's all I have to go by - I told him stumpers would know!
