[PW] 2 children's books I am searching for

On the second book, I wonder if you are thinking of the second book in
John Christopher's Tripod series, _The City of Gold and Lead_.  The main
character becomes the slave to a race of large aliens who use tripod
robots to get around.  To escape the alien city, he gets his master
drunk with a small ball that releases a sort of gas; when the master
becomes disoriented, the boy manages to kill him and escape.  I just
re-read the series; they are quick and exciting reads that got me hooked
on sci-fi as a kid.

Hi,

Ok, there are 2 children's books that I cannot find
since I don't know their titles. The first book had a
little girl and a monster and a swing in her backyard.
The monster would sing, "I love to dance, I love to
sing, but most of all, I love to sing"

The second book is for older readers, juvenile fiction
I think...It had a robot in it and a young boy. The
robot was his master.  The boy manages to get the
robot "drunk" with some kind of disc and escapes.


PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
