[PW] ? display cases ...

They were real popular in the 70's. They were called shadow boxes (for the
knick knack stuff). They were just drawers for moveable type before, I
think...
I don't think they had a special name for them.

Subject: [PW] ? display cases ...

I've seeking a word or phrase, describing a box with many small
compartments (not the same size) that can hang on a wall or stand on a
table, in
which one displays little ornaments and such . . . they're used by people
who
make them to order with ornaments and such that detail someone's life . . .
they
look sort of like type cases (in which you keep movable printing type, but
those
have almost all the compartments the same size, and what
I'm thinking of doesn't . . . what are these display cases called?

       Many thanks,
