Nothing definitive, but searching some ejournals in music yielded this article:

O'Loughlin, Niall. "For Ebony Sticklers"  Musical Times, 
v.117.:no.1602 (1976-08) p. 658.  The article is a review of a book 
entitled The Clarinet Teacher's Companion, by Pamela Weston.
