One slang term for a clarinet is "licorice stick."

Subject
[PW] Ebony slang for Clarinet

Hi all

Doing the hard 150 question trivia quiz again. Pretty sure of answer but
looking for proof.

What was the surname of the 19th-20th century composer who, during the
1940s, composed a clarinet concerto for jazz musician Woody Herman, with
the one-word title of the piece being derived from a jazz slang term for
the clarinet?

Had no trouble finding the Stravinsky concerto "Ebony" Spent a lot of
time
looking for another and did not find one to fit question.

Can not find that Ebony is a nickname for a clarinet.

Barbara
