[PW] The History of Outlining

This is a personal research query. I am trying to locate a history of 
grammatical outlining. I would like to research on how the process began 
to be taught and used. I am seeking to answer such questions as: Did the 
form begin with Lineas? Is outlining used multiculturally (as in both 
Europe and Asia or Middle East)?

All help and any suggestions on how to search will be appreciated.
