1. I checked the Lexis-Nexis Academic database which is supposed to have
U.S. News & World Report back to 1975, but did not find this article /
speech. First, I searched Carter as author. When that didn't work, I
tried some of the key words listed in your posting below; also
unsuccessful. However, Lexis-Nexis Academic has been known to have gaps
in coverage in the past so it's not definitive that the speech was not
included.

2. It looks like Jimmy Carter's presidential papers are available online
at:
http://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/jimmy_carter.php but they're not
searchable from that url.

I tried searching the index to all presidential documents at:
http://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/index.php
Scroll down near bottom of screen. You can search by keyword(s) and
limit your search by date and by president.

However, I did not find this when I searched. I limited to Carter and
even specified date range of 1975-1980.

Subject: [PW] Jimmy Carter speech/address

Patron is looking for what he describes as a speech given by Carter
during his presidency. The patron's recollection is that it appeared in
an issue of US News and World Report, with an accompanying photo of
Carter on the White House lawn. The issue of the magazine would have
been in 1977,1978 or 1979 and has a picture of the dollar bill on the
cover. The patron believes the speech begins with " We all live on this
planet together" and contains the phrase "Forward together".
I have checked the following:
Vital Speeches of the Day via Academic Search Premier
Public Papers of the Presidents of the United States (although our set
for Carter is incomplete)
Historic Documents of 1977, 78, and 79.
AND--I have googled every permutation of the above information I can
think of.
Any Carter scholars out there?
Thanks in advance--Mary
