[PW] "A man who does not read books has no advantage..."

People,

The quotation "The man who doesn't read books has no advantage over the
man who can't read them" (and variations), attributed to Mark Twain, has
been mentioned on this list before.

I was looking around on Google Books and found that something called
"Montana Libraries" attributes it to 'J. J. Fletcher in "Sand and
Spray"'. Presumably they mean John Gould Fletcher's _Irradiations: Sand
and Spray_ (1915).

Sadly I do not have access to this work. I would be most grateful if
someone who does have access to it could take a look and see if they
could find it there.

Of course 1915 is after Mr Twain died, but if it is in there that would
be a much better date than I know of otherwise. It would also incline
me, at least, _very_ much towards a belief that it belongs to Fletcher.

Regards,

Hans
