I watched the movie last night and did not hear the line.
I believe IMDB is mistaken here. There is some discussion of a silicon 
lifeform
and how it is different (check the screenplay, it's online). Which maybe 
gave rise
to the idea that Spock says it in that movie.

Spock _does_ say "no life as we know it" in "The Devil in the Dark" (TOS 
episode
written by Gene L. Coon).

And I do believe that the "canonical" form of "It's life, Jim, but not 
as we know it" is due to Grahame Lister and John O'Connor (The Firm) 
with their classic hit "Star Trekkin'" (1987).
