Here's a semi-related question which my wife and I were wondering about when
we zipped across the US border to buy a Senseo coffee machine (which isn't
available in Canada) ... President Ford had just passed away and, of course,
all American flags were at half staff. But as folks may know, near the
Canadian border, many places will fly the US and Canadian flags side by side
... so some  places had lowered the US flag, with the result that (in the
US) the Canadian flag was higher. What's the etiquette in that situation?
Should both flags be lowered?
