For a bit about deep web see the white paper at: http://www.brightplanet.com/resources/details/deepweb.html

For deep web searching I mainly use

http://aip.completeplanet.com/ A comprehensive listing of dynamic searchable databases
http://clusty.com/ A metasearch engine that combines the results of several top search engines.
http://infomine.ucr.edu/ A virtual library of Internet resources relevant to university students and faculty.
http://www.archive.org/index.php Database of tens of thousands of movies, live music, audio, texts, and home of the Wayback Machine that allows you to find old versions of web pages.

Hello All,

This is not a reference questions per se but my colleague is trying to find
examples of how searching the "deep" web was successful in helping a patron
- I suppose the deep web can be defined how ever you want but I thought I
would ask if anyone had an example.
