A patron found a real buy at the Salvation Army. Below is her
description of it. I saw a picture but unfortunately I can't post it to
the list. To me it looks football-ish, with a swan neck-like spout.
The handle looks like a Mickey Mouse head outline with a dark wooden
spool handle between the ears. The handle on the side has the wooden
spool pattern also. She would like to know what it is, if anyone can
get an idea from our descriptions. It could be from the 20s or
Victorian. It does look old and is probably not a samovar. They look
more like fancy coffee pots with spigots.
Patron description:
It's a brass teapot which sits on a tiltable base and has a receptacle
for a heat source. Closest I've come so far is the sbittenik, but that
seems to have a heat core right through the center of the pot rather
than underneath.
