Maybe the Ancestry.com library edition has a different index than the
individual subscriber version?  I just looked for him again (I had not
been successful previously), but this time with only his first name,
and he showed up as Kestinge.

When do you need to submit the article?  It might be possible to get
the death certificate quickly.
