  This is interesting - I found his name and 1930 info ON Ancestry.com at the 
NYPL Library on Sat. He is listed in Redlands as a "Lodger."  Widowed, no 
occupation, age 74, hence born around 1856, which is quite close. Here he claims 
to be born in Italy, but I think his mother was... He was English. When he 
arrived in the US, he must have had a different first name.

  That Sept. 1945 death in Los Angeles sounds very much like him (Leonide L. 
Keatinghe), but I don't know if I can get a copy (with his family background) 
in time for the article.
